One of the best investments you can make is in a good pair of boots. I have gotten so much wear out of my waterproof and riding boots (I even recently had the soles of my Tory Burch boots replaced!) For something that you want to make sure keep your feet nice and toasty warm, I am all about spending a few extra bucks. Think about the cost-per-wear when buying expensive boots and pick a neutral color that will go with multiple outfits so you'll get the most out of your purchase!
Waterproof
I definitely recommend a pair of both Hunter and LLBean boots. When paired with the socks (these are my favorite!) Hunter boots are the warmest things around. One of my biggest regrets is that I didn't get my LLBean boots with the Gore-tex/Thinsulate. Although they are a little more expensive, my regular Bean Boots don't keep me nearly as warm. These are great when its raining and you don't want the weight of Hunter boots!
Riding Boots
Another necessity are riding boots. I have these above Frye boots in cognac and similar black Tory Burch boots. I personally think a black and brown pair are essential. Already have black and brown boots and looking for a third option? The grey over-the-knee boots above are a little more trendy but still classic.
Booties
Booties are a little less of a necessity, but still worth a small splurge if you are looking to update your fall shoe collection. I love wearing mine with skirts and dresses to help them transition into fall as well as paired with cuffed jeans or corduroys! The above pairs are all excellent options.
