Makeup Meltdown Holiday Lip Colors

I am so excited to share a little preview of Makeup Meltdown's Holiday collection with you! You may follow beauty guru Claire Ashley who recently created a custom collection with Makeup Meltdown, and they are about to debut their very limited-release holiday collection, so I wanted to show you the two shades to give you an idea of what they look like!

First, I never realized how crucial a lip scrub was to priming my lips before applying lipstick (I'm kind of a beauty amateur over here), but it really does make a difference! My lips felt hydrated and the lipstick didn't crumble like most do when my lips get dry. The shades are gorgeous and smell amazing, too! I loved the deeper red/cranberry shade, it will look gorgeous for the holidays!

For you local D.C. ladies, Makeup Meltdown is hosting an event with Sarah Fraser on December 10th from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the Kendra Scott boutique in Mosaic District. Kendra Scott Giveaway!

Happy Monday! When I saw this coat a few weeks ago I couldn't help but snatch it up. I definitely stick to neutral tones in the winter, but I really felt that this lime green number was calling my name and I think it will be the perfect pop of color in my winter wardrobe. I may just have to take it with me to New York Fashion Week in February...

One of my favorite things about Kendra Scott jewelry is that all of her pieces are so unique, yet can be worn multiple ways; you can either let a piece stand out or have it be the perfect finishing touch to an outfit. Here I decided to play up the lime green coat and keep the rest of my outfit neutral with an all black look. Although the jewelry is also black, I love the contrast that the necklace & earrings in Black Banded Agate have against the coat!

How to Wear a Leather Skirt to Work

Happy Wednesday! Although my style leans more on the conservative side, I don't think I have ever posted a true "wear-to-work" look on the blog. I actually wore this outfit to work one day with no intention of shooting it until I received numerous compliments. This leather skirt is one of my favorite things to wear to work because it makes me feel so confident. That's exactly how you should feel in the office, am I right?! Leather can be kind of intimidating in an office setting, so I always opt for a conservative length, a chunky sweater (I just love the sleeve detailing on this one) and a modest heel to balance out the edginess.

Happy Friday! I think this will be the last weekend for leaves here in the D.C. area. This time of year always makes me so excited because fall and winter are easily my favorites for fashion. When I saw the Stuart Weitzman Highland boots in this gorgeous bordeaux color, I almost pulled the trigger. They are absolutely way out of my budget, but how could I resist? That was until my sweet friend Dana found these for less than $200! I quickly ordered them and I never turned back. They are great quality and the color is so rich...a great alternative if you want to invest but can't justify the Highlands! They were the perfect thing to pair with this ecru drop-waist dress.
