Anyone else completely over winter? And I thought we were already moving onto spring. Woof. Sometimes its hard to feel or look "cute" while wearing a big winter coat and trying to stay warm. So I am sharing a few ways I stay fashion-forward even with outerwear.
Weather-appropriate accessories
Scarves, a statement shoe, and a handbag are great ways to show off accessories over your coat. I love that pastel hues are in this winter, making them so easy to transition into spring and summer! If your winter look doesn't require a heel or is more casual, I love a fun-colored pair of rain boots that also keep your feet nice and warm. A blanket scarf is always a go to (I'll accept any added warmth I can get!) I really like this, this and this.
A well-tailored coat
A flattering coat can do wonders for your winter style. If you don't want to worry about having to get coats taken in to better fit your frame, look for coats that tie or can be belted around your waist for a more form-fitted look.
My trick is to always treat my coat as an extension of my outfit. So really think of the color when choosing on your outerwear. If you are deciding on investing in a wool coat, purchase your basic black and camel coats first, then you can get fun with colors and patterns!
Loving this cute outfit! I've been so into coats this winter and definitely think they make an outfit! Also, that bag and those boots are perfect!
